Sara B. Cooper started her career as most aspiring writers do - by becoming an acupuncturist in Los Angeles. She did, however, indulge her passion for writing in the privacy of her own home. On a whim, she showed a spec script for Star Trek: The Next Generation to a patient, who was able to get the script into the hands of the producers of the hit series. They brought her in to pitch and a career was born.

In addition to creating the Cardassians and breaking Worf's back (and thus creating some fun Klingon physiology), Sara has been honoured to work on Emmy award winning shows including X Files, Chicago Hope, Homicide and House to name a few.

To balance out her writing and producing work, Sara continues to keep her acupuncture license up to date; teaches yoga and does horse massage.
